Start your unforgettable 5-day Kenya safari that takes you through the diverse
landscapes from the large herds of elephants and wildlife of Amboseli National Park,
the flamingos of Lake Nakuru National Park to the big five of Maasai Mara National
Reserve. This safari itinerary offers a breathtaking scenery, cultural experiences, and
exceptional game viewing opportunities.

Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park

Distance: Approximately 230 km
Drive Time: 4–5 hours
Your journey will start with a morning pick up by our driver/ guide from your Nairobi
hotel or airport early in the morning and after a brief introduction and welcome. The
journey starts by driving south to Amboseli National Park which is known for its
stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro and large herds of African elephants. Amboseli
National park is one of the most visited Kenya safari destination for game viewing
and photography amid the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Upon arrival, check in to your lodge or tented camp After lunch and a brief rest start
your afternoon game drive. Open plains and swamps in Amboseli is home to a
variety of wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, and
numerous bird species. The wetlands in the park attracts large flocks of flamingos,
pelicans, and other water birds.
Return to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Amboseli to Lake Nakuru National Park

Distance: Approximately 380 km
Drive Time: 7–8 hours
Take a early breakfast and depart Amboseli and head north towards Lake Nakuru
National Park which is situated in the Great Rift Valley. The journey takes you
through Nairobi and offers scenic views of the Rift Valley escarpment.
You will arrive at Lake Nakuru in the afternoon and check in to your lodge. After
lunch go out for a game drive in the park, which is famous for its flamingo-lined
shores and as a sanctuary for black and white rhinos. On safari in Amboseli you are
likely to see the following animals; Rothschild’s giraffes, lions, leopards, buffaloes,
and various antelope species. It is also a great birding safari destination in kenya
with over 400 bird species, including African fish eagles, pelicans, and kingfishers.
Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Lake Nakuru to Maasai Mara National Reserve

Distance: Approximately 230 km

Drive Time: 5–6 hours
The journey will start after breakfast where you drive southwest to the most visited
safari destinations Maasai Mara National Reserve. The drive takes you through the
landscapes of the Rift Valley and Maasai land.
You will arrive at your camp or lodge in time for lunch. In the afternoon, embark on
your first game drive in the Maasai Mara known for its abundant wildlife and as the
stage for the Great Migration which happens annually from July to October. On a
game drive at Maasai Mara National Reserve you will be able to see the Big
Five—lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and rhinos—as well as cheetahs,
hyenas, hartebeests, hyenas, giraffes, zebras, bushbuck, wildebeests, and various
antelope species.
Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Full Day in Maasai Mara

This is a day to enjoy the plains of Maasai Mara Reserve with morning and afternoon
game drives. The early morning hours are good for spotting predators on the hunt,
while the afternoon offers opportunities to observe herbivores grazing and the
diverse birds species.
You guide will guide on where to have your picnic lunch. Mara River is one of the
best places to visit in Maasai Mara where you might witness hippos and crocodiles,
especially during the migration season. Alternatively, you may opt for a hot air
balloon safari (additional cost) for a unique aerial perspective of the savannah at
sunrise.
In the evening, you may choose to visit a local Maasai village to learn about their
culture, traditions, and way of life. Return to your lodge or camp for dinner and
overnight stay.

Day 5: Maasai Mara to Nairobi

Distance: Approximately 270 km
Drive Time: 5–6 hours
After taking breakfast early in the morning start on a final morning game drive to
capture any last sightings of the Mara’s wildlife. Then, begin your journey back to
Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon. Upon arrival, you will be dropped off at your hotel
or the airport.
